What this tool helps you check
A chain of redirects adds delay and can conceal a broken destination. Enter one public HTTP or HTTPS URL to see the sequence of returned status codes and location headers. The checker follows up to five hops and shows where the request ends.
How to use it
- Paste a public URL, including the scheme
- Run the check and inspect each HTTP hop
- Update internal links to point directly to the intended final destination
Interpreting the result
Some websites reject automated HEAD requests or behave differently for browsers. The checker tries a limited GET when HEAD is unsupported; the result describes its own request rather than every user agent.
Limitations and next steps
Is a 301 always better than a 302?|A permanent redirect is suitable for a durable move, while a temporary redirect has a different purpose. The right status depends on the change.
