When to use Compress JPEG Image

Balance photo detail and file size for a website or email. The result reports the source and output byte sizes for an honest comparison.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose an image
  2. Choose JPEG quality and a transparency background
  3. Download and inspect detail at normal viewing size

Before you use the result

JPEG is lossy and does not support transparency. A small or optimized source can produce a larger output.

Open the downloaded file or export before relying on it. Keep the original so you can compare quality, recover data or try different settings. Use only material you have permission to process.
